On Tuesday, July 13, the Perseverance probe transmitted an image to Earth that surprised NASA experts. In the image sent by this rover robot, a string-like object like spaghetti can be seen. Some joked about the possibility of an Italian restaurant on the Red Planet, but the object seen was not spaghetti, not a sea creature, not even a canvas thread.
It seems that this photo is more related to the crushed materials in the intertwining and sticking together, which are probably the remnants of the materials used in one of the missions of this robot or part of its heat shield and therefore part of the space debris.
Earlier in June, the sighting of a silver object by this rover made news. But in the end, it turned out that the photo related to this shiny piece was actually a foil photo of part of the thermal blanket that NASA’s Mars rover used during one of its landings last year.
This image was taken by one of the front cameras of this rover. The six-wheeled robot Percy, also known as the “Estiqamat” probe in Persian, uses this camera to protect himself while driving or using his robotic arm.
This probe landed on Mars in February 2021 with the aim of finding signs of life on the Red Planet and continues its work by collecting and storing samples from the surface of Mars to send to Earth.
