Black Adam Movie
HBO Max is now streaming “Black Adam Movie,” allowing more fans to watch the Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson-starring film about a DC antihero.
On October 21, “Black Adam” had its theatrical release. Teth-Adam (Johnson), a superhuman from prehistoric Kahndaq who used his divine abilities for vengeance and was then swiftly imprisoned, serves as the film’s main character. After nearly 5,000 years, modern archaeologists release Adam so that he can aid in the defense of Kahndaq against the criminal organization Intergang. He is, however, provoked by the Justice Society, which includes Cyclone, Hawkman, Atom Smasher, and Doctor Fate (played by Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, and Pierce Brosnan) (Quintessa Swindell).

The “Shazam!” spin-off received positive reviews from some, but it disappointed many critics and viewers. Glen Weldon of NPR described Johnson’s performance as “ponderous” and “under-seasoned.” The characters in “Black Adam” were described by IndieWire reporter David Ehrlich as “a cheap photocopy of one from Gotham or the [Marvel Cinematic Universe]” and as a “lifeless spectacle.”
Additionally, “Black Adam” had a poor box office performance, earning $400 million globally against a $195 million budget, which excludes marketing and other expenses for distribution and promotion. Johnson, however, refuted predictions that “Black Adam” would lose $50 million to $100 million. Johnson claimed in a tweet, citing investors, that “Black Adam” would bring in between $52 million and $72 million.
With millions of HBO Max subscribers, there is still a chance that “Black Adam” will succeed.
Additionally, the film is making its streaming debut during the holidays, which might improve its chances.
“Morbius,” another antihero superhero movie, bombed an embarrassing two times in theaters, earning only $163 million globally and $74 million domestically on a $75 million budget.
Sony, fortunately, has a multiyear deal with Netflix, so the film was a success despite not turning a sufficient profit.
When it debuted on Netflix in September, “Morbius” made it to the top 10 list.
