The World Bank is investing $ 1 billion in the Afghanistan Reconstruction Fund (ARTF) to help support education, agriculture, health and nutrition programs for families.
According to Reuters, the World Bank bailout plan is designed to circumvent the access of Taliban-sanctioned officials and will be funded by UN agencies.
According to the report, the plan will be reviewed and approved at the World Bank Board of Directors meeting on March 1.
The project follows a successful $ 280 million payment and funding from the World Food Program (WFP) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to support health and nutrition in Afghanistan.
