Controversy continues over Cristiano Ronaldo’s explosive interview with Sun columnist Piers Morgan.
In another part of his 90-minute interview with Piers Morgan, Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese football star, attacked Glazer’s family and his former teammates.
Ronaldo also criticized the Glazer family, who own Manchester United, and said that they do not care about the club.
Ronaldo continued: “The Glazer family? I’ve never spoken to them, never! They don’t care about the club. I mean professionally and sportingly. As you know, Manchester United is a marketing club. They make their money from marketing. I don’t think they really care about the sport itself.”
Ronaldo also lashed out at former teammates Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney in the interview, accusing them of criticizing him without knowing the full story.
Manchester United are clearly furious with their striker after part of Cristiano Ronaldo’s interview with Piers Morgan was aired on Sunday.
The United club issued a statement and fined Cristiano Ronaldo 1 million pounds.
It is stated in this statement: Manchester United is aware of the news of Cristiano Ronaldo’s interview. The club will review its response once all the facts are known. We are still focused on preparing for the second half of the season and maintaining the momentum, faith and unity between the players, the coach, the coaching staff and the fans.
