Bambuck, who often worked as a writer and director of indie classics such as “The Squid and the Whale” and “The Franciscans,” convinced Netflix in January 2021 with “Marriage Story” after six Oscar nominations, including Best Picture. to sign a multi-year contract with him.
Bambuck previously worked with Adam Sandler on The Meyerowitz Stories, but neither has worked with Brad Pitt before.
