The mechanical model of the “IT” character, which was used in the making of a movie directed by Steven Spielberg, was sold at an auction for 2.6 million dollars.
The doll was the highlight of the two-day auction held by Julien’s Auctioneers and Turner Classic Movies.
The model was sold at the “Icons and Idols: Hollywood” auction, which coincides with the film’s 40th anniversary.
Other items from the film, including the original AT replica model made for Steven Spielberg to validate the AT design, were also sold.
This model, which appeared in a 1982 film directed by Steven Spielberg, has 85 points of motion and was created by twelve professional animators.
In this auction, another 1,300 pieces of famous movies were sold, among which the collection of objects related to the “Harry Potter” movies can be mentioned.
This auction was held on December 17th and 18th in Beverly Hills.
