Binance announced that the bridge that connects to the company’s native blockchain token called “BNB” was hacked and tokens worth $570 million were stolen.
According to a Reuters report, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao announced that the tokens were stolen from a blockchain bridge used in the BNB chain.
He explained that hackers managed to steal 2 million tokens (about 570 million dollars at the current price).
Binance exchange is one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world in terms of transaction volume.
This exchange was founded in 2017 by a person named Chang Peng Zhao.
The digital currency Binance Coin (Binance Coin), which is displayed with the abbreviation BNB, is similar to other digital assets in the market from a general point of view; Digital assets that increase or decrease in value based on user usage and transactions.
It should be noted that Binance exchange users can store BNB like other digital currencies in compatible wallets outside the exchanges and send and receive this asset directly.
