The Australian government has announced 31,500 Australian visas for Afghan refugees in response to the humanitarian crisis and immigration in Afghanistan. These visas will be issued to Afghans in the next four years to settle in Australia.
Out of the 31,500 Australian visas issued by the Australian government for Afghan refugees, 5,000 visas are given to families who already have members in Australia, and these visas are originally reserved for family reunification.
44,320 applications have been submitted so far for Australia’s 26,500 humanitarian visas.
The Australian government has processed 20,448 applications so far, but this does not mean that these applications have been granted visas, but these applications have only been reviewed and processed.
In a statement sent to SBS Pashto, the Ministry of Immigration of Australia said that since 2013, it has given Australian humanitarian visas to 16,500 Afghans.
