Yarina Ariva and Svyatoslav Forsin, a Ukrainian couple, spent the first day of their marriage collecting weapons to defend Ukraine.

But they spent the first day of their life together as a married couple collecting weapons and preparing to defend Ukraine.
Their wedding was scheduled to take place in June, but they acted sooner as the couple were no longer sure what their future would be.
However, both Areva and Forsin have registered with the Territorial Defense Forces, a branch of the Ukrainian Armed Forces that is made up mostly of volunteers.
“We are here now and we are doing everything we can,” the couple told Cyan. “So there is a lot of work to be done, but we still hope everything goes well.”
