According to the German “ntv” network, Elias Vaz, the representative of the Brazilian Congress, says that the Ministry of Defense has “approved the purchase of 60 penile prostheses.” According to him, the cost of these orders amounted to 645 thousand euros and needs to be explained by the Brazilian government headed by Jair Bolsonaro.
He wondered why the Bolsonaro government was spending the country’s budget on these items, and asked why such expensive prostheses were provided “for a small group” when the Brazilian people were having trouble getting medicine.
The representative had previously announced the order of 35,000 pills for people with erectile dysfunction in the Brazilian Armed Forces.
“Our hospitals do not have enough medicine and Bolsonaro and the relevant authorities are spending the general budget on these small blue pills,” he said on Monday, April 12, referring to Viagra pills to boost male sexual potency.
Vaz said that the government documents related to these orders did not mention Viagra pills and instead mentioned the purchase of thousands of pills containing “Sildenafil”, the effective substance in Viagra.
He has said he will submit the case to the Attorney General.
