New Generation of Browser
The New Generation of Browser is on the planned list of Apple, Google, and Mozilla.
This benchmark, known as the Speedometer 3, will enable businesses to evaluate the performance of their browser products and advance the benchmark.
The makers of some of the most popular web browsers in the world (Safari, Chrome, and Firefox), Apple, Google, and Mozilla, have teamed up to develop a browser benchmark that will be used to evaluate how well new applications work with various website-specific technologies.
Mozilla claims that the Speedometer 3 will give internet service providers a “shared understanding of what matters.”
The development of quicker and more effective applications will be the result of improved communication between the groups.
Speaking about the Speedometer 3 partnership, Apple stated, “Working together will help us further improve the benchmark and improve browser performance for our users.
The final benchmark will contrast Google’s V8 engine with Mozilla‘s SpiderMonkey or Safari’s WebKit with Chrome’s Blink.
Any modifications to the Speedometer 3 must receive unanimous consent from all parties; accordingly, any change that elicits strong opposition from either party will also elicit strong opposition.
