SpaceX’s first mission to Moon
Yusaku Maezawa, a Japanese businessman who reserved all 8 seats on the first SpaceX lunar mission, has officially revealed his crew. The group, which consists of 10 creatives from different parts of the world, comprises people who work as rappers, DJs, Youtubers, and even Bollywood actors.
The most well-known members of Maezawa’s “Dearmoon” group are K-POP musician TOP and American DJ Steve Aoki, both of whom are also members of the Big Bang.
This will be the first voyage to the moon since the moon landing in 1972, and it is scheduled for 2023. Although this SpaceX lunar trip won’t involve a true moon landing, the spaceship will nonetheless approach the moon and circle it at a distance of up to 200 kilometers.
A SpaceX facility in Texas is presently home to the spaceship that will carry the “Dearmoon” crew on their mission to the moon. The spacecraft is really waiting for US authorities to give their approval before taking the launch.
Mr. Maezawa appears to be quite proud of his Dearmoon team and he has even developed a website and made a promotional movie to expose the team.
The Dearmoon crew comprises the K-pop rapper TOP, the dancer and choreographer Yemi A.D., the photographers Rhiannon Adam and Karim Iliya, the filmmaker Brendan Hall, the actor Dev Joshi from Bollywood, the YouTuber Tim Dodd, and the well-known DJ Aoki.
“I hope each and everyone will grasp the responsibility that comes with leaving the Earth, traveling to the moon, and returning,” Mr. Maezawa remarked while speaking about his team.
