In anticipation of the protracted fighting between Russian and Ukrainian forces and the entry of the Moscow military offensive into its 80th day, the head of Ukraine’s military intelligence service, Kirillo Budanov, has called for a halt to all combat operations by the end of December.
“The turning point in the battle with Russia will be at the end of next August,” Budanov told the British Sky channel on Saturday, May 24, according to the Associated Press.

The head of the Ukrainian military intelligence service expressed optimism about the future of his country, noting that Russia has suffered heavy losses in these battles.
